Tongluo Glutinous Rice Wine has a very long history. As early as the Wuyue Spring and Autumn Period, the palace tribute liquor made by Tongluo people was already well-known in the Wu area. By the end of Qing Dynasty, small breweries in Tongluo had reached as many as 250 with large variety of products and became the famed ‘Wujiang City of Liquor’. Currently, Tongluo area has become the second largest production base of glutinous rice wine in China. Wu Palace Aging Wine and Tonglihong etc brands are deemed as classics of Suzhou glutinous rice wine.
