This is a well-known Zhenze specialty with 300 years of history. Its fame started as early as Qianlong Years of Qing Dynasty. Legend has it that Emperor Qianlong left Beijing to inspect the southern provinces; the head of Wudong village contributed many local specialties, including dried black bean curd. Emperor Qianlong tasted it and praised it highly. Dried black bean curd is also called dried tea. Many workers in the industry are highly trained, with skills being passed down the generations in families. It is made by selecting fine quality beans and mixing them with other materials for fermentation and then kept boiling after adding the condiments.
